DESCRIPTION

The Software and System Security group at EURECOM (S3 Group) performs research in the broad topic of systems security. The S3 group had an initial focus in the areas of Malware, Web, and Social Networks, but it is now exploring also other topics, especially related to Cloud Computing, mobile and embedded devices.

Available position include (more offers to be added soon, including for post-doc):

  • PhD in analysis of smart/IoT/wearable devices. The main focus will be to assess the privacy implications of such devices by performing static and dynamic analysis of the device and it's firmware, new techniques and methodologies will have to be developed for this but will rely on past experience in the group in this topic. The PhD is fully funded and work will take place at EURECOM and will be in a collaborative project funded by ANR. The student is expected to have experience, interest in, or wilingness to learn, embedded devices analysis, firmware analysis, reverse engineering. Official job offer on EURECOM website: [PDF].
  • CIFRE Position in Orange Labs in Paris (co-supervised by Davide Balzarotti) for a Ph.D. thesis on Authomated Defenses Techniques. More information (in French) at the following link
