The S3 group is currently having multiple open positions. There are no criteria of origin, spoken languages (besides speaking English) or gender (i.e., women highly encouraged to apply too). CIFRE PhD with IDEMIA

Idemia (formerly Morpho and Oberthur) in cooperation with EURECOM, is looking for excellent candidates for a PhD position (CIFRE).

The goal of this CIFRE PhD thesis is to design novel techniques and methodologies to enable the implementation of secure primitives for trustworthy acquisition of biometric data and usage in security-sensitive scenarios. Applications include, for example, smartphone-based identification and payments. Standard smartphones may be used and have different levels of security. For example, some devices may have a TEE and/or a Secure Element. In some cases the system and the platform may be modified to improve security. The position will be located at Idemia offices in Sophia Antipolis with part of the time in EURECOM and frequent interactions with the Idemia teams in Paris (main location in Paris is possible).

Engineer position(s) in firmware analysis

We are looking for a research and software development engineer with experience and interest in software development (python, C...) applied to embedded device firmware analysis. In particular, the project will involve working with Avatar2 and/or Angr. The work will take place at EURECOM and will involve some external collaboration. The candidate is expected to have experience in software development and experience, interest in, or willingness to learn, embedded devices analysis, firmware analysis, reverse engineering. This position is flexible, it may be suitable for a Post doc as well as for a freshly graduated master student. If the collaboration is successful, the position may also be changed to a PhD after one year.
