I am an Assistant Professor in the S3 group at EURECOM. (Yes, I'm looking for students! If you like what I do, feel free to shoot me an email.) I got my PhD from UC Santa Barbara, working in the Computer Security Lab.

I work on mobile security (mainly Android), but I am interested in many other aspects of system security as well. Recent projects I was involved with include Cloak & Dagger (Android UI attacks), ultrasound cross-device tracking, and Drammer (see full list of publications). I was also involved with the development of Andrubis and Wepawet.

In my free time, I develop hacking tools (ShellNoob, toolkit to develop shellcodes, now on part of Kali Linux), and play and organize Capture The Flag competitions with the Shellphish team. I also play the piano and the guitar (currently not at the same time), and I enjoy playing poker and wasting my time solving puzzles (especially if pointless). If there were any doubt, I'm 100% Italian.
