What Conferences are you talking about?
ACM CCS, IEEE Security & Privacy, USENIX Security, and NDSS.
Can't I just check CSRanking instead?
You should probably check
CSRanking
as well, but there are some differences. The most important is the fact
that CSRanking assigns all publications to the current affiliation of each
author. So, if professor Jimmy Banana moves to Stanford, all his previously
published papers count for Stanford's ranking. This makes sense if you are
a student who needs to decide where you want to apply, but
it doesn't if you are interested instead in knowing which university had
- over the years - contributed the most to the security field.
Do you use DBLP?
No, I collect all data from the conference webpages. The reason is
that, at least when I started this project, DBLP contained many errors in the authors name
which resulted in the fact that many papers were not counted correctly.
What happened to the second tier conferences?
RAID and ACSAC are still in the DB, but some have (rightfully) criticized
the lack of other venues - such as IEEE EuroS&P.
Therefore, I decided to postpone the second tier statistics for when I'll have
collected enough data.
How long have you been doing this?
I started in 2015.
Is this a way to rank or measure the impact of different researchers?
Go away.
